OnePlus on Monday announced price revision for the OnePlus 2 smartphone which will now retail at $349 (approximately Rs. 23,700) for the 64GB model. Prior to this, the OnePlus 2 64GB model was priced at $389 in the US. We can expect the company to make an announcement for the Indian market shortly. Until the time, the OnePlus 2 in India will be retailing at Rs. 24,999 for the 64GB model and Rs. 22,999 for the 16GB model.
OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei confirmed the news on the company’s forum. “The OnePlus 2 now has a price modification of $349,” he said. Pei also confirmed that consumers who bought the OnePlus 2 smartphone within the last 15 days will be getting a refund in price – $40.
The company also announced that with Valentine’s Day around the corner, it will be announcing new offers for consumers. For now, consumers who buy any OnePlus device will receive a free StyleSwap Cover or OnePlus X Case.
To recall, the OnePlus 2 was launched in July last year and the company scrapped the invite system for the flagship smartphone in December. The invite free system meant that those interested in purchasing the smartphone won’t need to have an invite.
Last month, OnePlus made the OnePlus X “completely invite-free” – specifically, in regions including India slightly later.
To refresh, the OnePlus 2 features a 5.5-inch in-cell display with a full-HD (1080×1920 pixel) resolution; powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz; 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM; dual 4G Nano-SIM cards (dual-SIM dual standby); USB Type-C connectivity; 13-megapixel rear camera; 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3300mAh battery.
