Huawei’s anticipated P9 smartphone, the flagship handset that has been leaked on several occasions, is expected to launch alongside the P9 Lite and P9 Max on April 6. Out of the two, the P9 Lite has now been purportedly shown off in some leaked images based on factory CAD.
As tweeted by tipster Onleaks, the Huawei P9 Lite will feature a 5.2-inch display and will be 7.6mm thin. Like its bigger sibling the P9, the P9 Lite will reportedly sport a metal design and a Nexus 6P-like rear camera visor. It is also supposed to sport a fingerprint sensor and a regular Micro-USB port.
In the images, the Huawei P9 Lite is seen sporting dual speakers at the bottom, along with power and volume button on the right. A 3.5mm headphone jack is seen at the top along with a microphone hole. The left side will be where the SIM card tray will sit. As for the dimensions, the variant is tipped to measure 146.8×72.5×7.6mm.
Earlier this week, the Huawei P9 was allegedly spotted being used by the company president. The alleged image showing the rear panel of the smartphone once again clearly showed the inclusion of a dual camera setup, which also has been hinted at in the company’s official teaser. At the back two cameras are visible on the top corner along with autofocus sensors and dual-LED flash. Although the purpose of the second camera is not yet known, it might likely be used for wide angle capture or for refocussing after the image has been captured.
Some of the rumoured specifications tipped include the company’s native Kirin 950 processor under the hood; a 3GB of RAM; 32GB inbuilt storage; 12-megapixel rear camera with Leica lenses, and a 3900mAh battery. The Huawei P9 is likely to come with a new version of the Emotion UI running on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
