Huawei has introduced two new Y-series handsets, the Y3 II and Y5 II, both of which are now listed on the official site. While there are no official availability and pricing details of the Huawei Y3 II and Huawei Y5 II, we expect that the company will announce them in the coming days. Both the new Huawei Y-series smartphones will be available in Rose Pink, Sky Blue, Arctic White, Obsidian Black, and Sand Gold colours.
Both Huawei Y3 II and Y5 II come with Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box with the company’s EMUI 3.1 skin running on top. According to the company listing, both the new Huawei handsets will come in two variants – 3G and 4G – featuring different chipsets. The Huawei Y3 II 3G only model is powered by 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M SoC while the Huawei Y3 II 4G model packs 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735M SoC. On the other hand, the Huawei Y5 II 3G model comes with 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 SoC while the Huawei Y5 II 4G packs 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P SoC. Rest of the specifications of the 3G and 4G models of the Huawei Y3 II and Y5 II are identical.
Both smartphones come with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage with expandable storage support. Other specifications of the Huawei Y3 II include a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels); 5-megapixel rear camera; 2-megapixel front camera, and 2100mAh battery. It measures 134.1×66.7×9.9mm and weighs 150 grams.
The Huawei Y5 II features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display and sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash. There is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera on board as well accompanied by an LED flash, a highlight of the feature. It is backed by a 2200mAh battery. It measures 143.8x72x8.9mm and weighs 135 grams. Both support Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Micro-USB, and 4G connectivity options.
