The annual Oscar nominee luncheon tends to draw a pretty simply-dressed crowd; but this time, “Spotlight” actress Rachel McAdams stood out in a transparent paillette-adorned Prada minidress, embellished with big, pink crystal stones and a cute, little red bow tie.
Now, pretend you haven’t seen this dress, and take a moment to think about how ugly this sounds. Paillette, at least for me, immediately brings to mind some gaudy Las Vegas dress meant to draw the wrong kind of attention, and a big, crystal stone-embellished trim on top of all that — in pink — just sounds like a bad idea. That said, this Prada dress, paired with Christian Louboutin heels, was amazing and we couldn’t imagine a better celebrity ambassador for it than the 37-year-old actress. Here’s hoping that stylist Rob Zangardi will create more memorable Prada/McAdams moments (please. for us.) on the red carpet.
