ROX Gaming announced Sunday it has launched ROX Gaming Academy in collaboration with PC hardware company ASUS.
ROX Gaming Academy will be operated by ROX Gaming, and sponsors includes Daily eSports, the Korean e-Sports Association (KeSPA), Gachon University Graduate School of Game, and ChungKang College of Cultural Industries.
The academy will offer a number of programs in order to create an environment where talented players will be able to be recruited by teams participating in League Champions Korea with the eSports Player Program. The aim of the program is to create a recruitment cycle of players for both domestic and international teams.
The first ROX Gaming Academy held classes including psychological counseling, physical training, lectures from coaches and head coaches, and individual mentoring sessions from esports officials from Aug. 1-4. The second location of the academy will take place at ChungKang College of Cultural Industries.
ROX Gaming is active in multiple esports, including League of Legends with the ROX Tigers, Overwatch with ROX Orcas, and Vainglory with ROX Armada. The computers for the academy will be provided and installed by ASUS for participants to use during their training.
Daily eSports is a media outlet that covers Korean esports, so its sponsorship of this academy creates a potential conflict of interest.
