RuneScape and Old School RuneScape are coming to mobile and tablet devices with PC cross-platform play.
Publisher and developer Jagex announced the two Western MMORPGs will be the first of their kind to provide full cross-play between PC and mobile platforms. This will allow players to jump between playing on either platform while keeping all of their progress and characters
Players can choose to log out from their PC and continue their RuneScape adventure on their mobile device, picking up from the same in-game moment they left off on their PC. Naturally, you’ll also be able to just play either game solely on your mobile device, if you so desire.
Old School RuneScape will come to mobile this winter, with RuneScape to follow sometime thereafter.
RuneScape was first released in 2001 and currently has over 250 million player accounts. Jagex has wanted to bring the game to mobile platforms since 2013.
