Xiaomi Max Allegedly Spotted in Leaked Images

Xiaomi last week ran a poll asking users what should be the name of its next smartphone. The Chinese tech firm gave four options, with ‘Xiaomi Max’ getting the most votes. Although nothing was mentioned about the device at that time, the name itself indicated it to be a powerful or a large-sized handset. However, a few hours later a couple of images leaked online showing the alleged front panel of the Xiaomi Max.

Both images shared by My Drivers (via GSMArena) are said to come directly from the production line. They show the alleged front panel indicating the Xiaomi Max might be a phablet and not a regular-sized smartphone. Three capacitive buttons at the bottom along with earpiece and sensor cutouts on top are also visible. Rumours suggests that although there is no physical home button with fingerprint sensor in the front like seen in the Mi 5, there will be a sensor placed at the back panel, something similar to the Redmi Note 3 or the Mi 4s.

xiaomi_max_front_panel_leak1.jpgDetails on the specifications of the Xiaomi Max are still scarce at the moment. For now, it is rumoured to feature a display larger than 5.7 inches, pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and might go official in May this year.

Xiaomi is also rumoured to be working on its second-generation Mi Note smartphone – the Mi Note 2. A recent leak claims pricing details of the handset, and also suggests that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, similar to its predecessor, will pack top-notch specifications. A tipster claimed that the Mi Note 2 will be priced at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 31,000) which if compared to the original Mi Note is costlier.
