One of the top names in PC gaming just announced its most advanced new wireless gaming mouse, setting a new standard for ultra-lightweight, portable gaming mice. Razer has packed the new Razer Viper V2 Pro gaming mouse with all the latest technology. Despite the numerous upgrades (including use of Razer’s Optical Mouse Switches Gen-3, a 30K optical image sensor, and Razer HyperSpeed Wireless technology), the Razer Viper V2 Pro weighs 20% less than the Viper Ultimate. And it gets up to 80 hours of battery life on a charge.
Here’s everything you need to know about the all new Razer Viper V2 Pro gaming mouse.

20% lighter than the Razer Ultimate
The Razer Viper Ultimate is a popular choice among PC gamers, from casual players right up to esports pros. One of the appeals of this mouse is its ergonomic design combined with a very low weight. This combination makes it ideal for lengthy gaming sessions.
With the Viper V2 Pro, Razer continued the focus on ergonomics, but also managed to reduced the weight of the Viper Ultimate by 20% to just 58g. This is no small feat. How did Razer do it? The company consulted with esports pros to get their feedback. Among the updates are a lighter and more efficient battery, and a lighter, more tactile keycover. In addition, Chroma RGB lighting was removed as were right-side buttons, and the built-in grips. Razer does include optional, pre-cut grip tape in the box so you can customize your mouse if needed.
You might lose RGB lighting, but the esports pros felt the tactical advantage of a 20% weight reduction was worth it.
Advanced technology for maximum performance
Razer has packed the Viper V2 Pro gaming mouse with class-leading technology. This includes the world’s most precise optical sensor. It features 30,000 DPI resolution and AI-powered functionality including Smart Tracking, Asymmetric Cut-Off (with 26 levels of height adjustment granularity), and Motion Sync. This mouse tracks flawlessly on any surface, including glass, and does so with a resolution accuracy of 99.8%. On-mouse controls let you toggle between five different DPI stages (from 400 to 3200 DPI).
Also onboard are Razer’s third generation Optical Mouse Switches (with zero double-clicking issues, a 0.2ms response time, and 90 million click rating), Razer HyperSpeed wireless (up to three times faster than other wireless technology for the ultimate in low latency gaming), and Razer HyperShift (effectively doubling your inputs at the touch of a button).
Razer notes that when the packaging for the Viper V2 Pro was printed, the battery life was 70 hours. Impressive. However, with new firmware and pre-production fine-tuning, that rating turned out to be conservative. You can expect 80 hours of battery life between charges (which is now done using USB-C).
Designed for mobility
The Razer Viper V2 Pro is designed for gaming on the go. It’s not just incredibly light with battery life to last for days, it also has onboard memory for one profile. Based on the last-used Razer Synapse profile, this includes custom button, lift-off distance, DPI configurations, and more.
